I have a Pensonic DVD player which plays AVI files from a USB input. Recently I converted Real player files into divx avi using Super version 8 build 32 (8.7.08) (Sorry not 169 as quote on the title) and the DVD player fails to play them. These files are playable using the computer.
After determining the player was working OK, I deinstall Super and reverted to an earlier version, build 30 (22.2.08), this time it worked. My conclusion is the DVD player can decode DivX codec up to a certain version, anything newer, such as produced by the newer SUPER, it cannot cope.
So I will stick to build 30, no more upgrades.

Sorry , it should have said build 32 dated 8.7.08. I have edited the above post but unable to correct the title.
There is nothing wrong with your software, just my dvd player, which refused to play divx encoded files by the newer SUPER. I wrote this so that people who uses DVD player which plays divx avi files will know what is going on with their dvd players. I also have a LG dvd recorder which refuses to play the new codec files. If indeed the new codec is the source of the problem. Again i have to emphasis the files do play well in computers.

what output format are you using, what is the file type you want to play on your DVD players. We have not changed/modified any codec type related to DVD files.

1) the correct DVD profile to be used is the DVD Std. Compliant (vob)
2) if you insist on using the AVI profile with the DIVX codec, make sure that
no B Frames are inserted and the Deinterlace mode is selected ( see the Other Opts tiny swith )
otherwise some standalone DVD players cannot support the rendered file.

Although the Pensonic is a DVD player I wasn't trying to make a dvd as such, I just wanted an avi file which is playable by the window media player and the pensonic and LG player. A typical avi file is only 700 mb. I use Super mainly to increase the sound level and convert some real player files to avi. Vob files are no good for these machines.
I have been doing this since I discovered Super going back to maybe under a year ago, I have always done an upgrade and all was well until I used build 32, when these "avi" players refused to play processed files from SUPER. Using build 30 cures the problem.
I did check "deinterlace" box is checked, but I do not know what B Frames are.

One of my work colleagues who uses build 32 and just converted files from real player formats to avi formats is also suffering from unable to play in avi divx players. So the few reported problems here is only the tip of the iceberg.
We HAVE to stick to build 30. Which is a shame cos any other upgrade in future we will be reluctant to touch. What I can suggest to the team who develop SUPER is to identify exactly what they have to done build 30 to arrive at build 32, and understand and correct which bit of the code is causing this problem.

I notice you also post at the last tread regarding new DIVX converted files not working on Hardware DVD player.. maybe we are not speaking english clear enought (sorry i'm french canadian) but in most forum, someone reply asking or suggestion anwser way off track... VOB file.. who talk about making a DVD format??
Anyway
I also notice that when starting Super, I have an error saying that something is wrong, I don't have the correct OS version (I use WinXP SP3) and I get many DXDump.exe error
Instruction at "0x00a6abb2" ...... memory can't be read ....
And since the last version of Super is not talking about a DIVX fix, I'm still using build 30
So maybe that's why I have a OS error ?!?! and when I click start encoding files, the DXDump.exe error ?!?! and 80% of the time that I have multiple files to convert, the 1st one start, and skip to the second files without proper conversion... the file is only about 300K but the following files are OK ?!??!

Sorry mate, I don't know exactly what you mean.
My post on your thread is merely to confirm the fact that there is something not quite right with build 32. You did something totally different than what I did and we both came to the same conclusion, right? And I am sure you will be joining me and other voices here to urge the author of SUPER to look into this, to this day, they just have not responded.
