Hello everybody,
I know that there are other topics like that but they seem to be almost dead.
So as many of you I have the same problem : when I launch SUPER C, it appears in windows task a few second and then nothing...
When I first instal it (in april maybe) on my vista labtop I had the bluescreen (at the last step of the installation when it's ask if we want to launch SUPER C) and then no way to launch it, so I though it was not yet ready for vista and I decided to wait a few months.
And now, it's still the same problem, and I have tried manything, I don't have any antivirus firewall or whatever (I disable all windows firewall defender...) Maybe I had norton internet security for the first install but now I have removed it.
I thought of something (maybe it's stupid) but as for the first instal it has big error (the bluescreen), could vista block the access to super.exe to prevent from another bluescreen?
A last thing, that looks strange for me, when I execute the install as an admin, I had a message at the end to restart my computer but It's the first and the last time I had it ...
Does anyone find a trick ??
sorry if my english is sometimes bad but I'm french.
I hope it will be solved soon cause it's a great tool.
Regards

Thanks for helping but I can't check the box that says "open as administrator" because I think my account is already set to administrator (not as a standard user).
And if I click right and click on execute as an admin, Super doesn't start anyway.
I've understood why it asks me if I want to restart sometime, it's because sometime it couldn't overwrite some files used by windows in system32 directory.
I try to change my account to standard user but I can't. I'll try to create a new standard one and install Super on it.
It's still the same problem if I install Super on a standard user account, I don't know what to do anymore.

I understand what you do, but it's doesn't have any effect for me, we should have the same problem or it's just by chance that's it's now working on your computer with this option. Did you have a bluescreen when you first instal Super on vista ?
I have also vista home (family in france) premium SP1 (don't know if it's the same name in english but I think so)
And as my account is already set as administrator I don't have such problem to execute as an admin.

During the launch of the program, there is a script (log.bat) that is executed. (in temp folder with x264.exe).
Perharps a security software on your computer doesn't allow the script and is blocking Super ?

Hello,
I didn't find any file named log.bat on my computer and in my different temp folger ( C:\Windows, C:\Windows\Temp, C:\Users\Alexandre\AppData\Local\Temp).
Maybe I can't see it if it appears only a few second I don't know.
in C:\Windows I have 3 files : meta4.exe, MOTA113 and x2.64.exe which are automaticaly created when I launch Super (if I delete then before).
I don't have any security software installed on my computer, maybe windows could block it but I don't know how.
Thank you for helping jatt4964 and sylvie, if you have any other ideas do not hesitate.

I have the exact same problem on my Vista 32. I've tried all the tricks suggested, all permissons as administrator and reinstalled probably 20 times, disabled all security software -- Super installs without any kind of error message, but simply won't run.
Getting very frustrated, it used to be such a great program... *sigh*

Hello,
I've just downloaded and instaled the last version of SUPER and it's still the same problem.
Here is the result from SD.exe :

I initially wrote in to empathise with the problem by souly72, but found another forum thread with similar issue and tried following this guy's advise:
jatt4964 wrote:
found a solution to this, go to program files, and find the super exe file, once u find it go to properties, and then compability, and check da box that says ru as windows adminstrator
It worked for me. I just successfully converted a vob file into an avi file. Thanks to jatt4964 for the tip, and Super's FAQ guide.
I'm not software savvy at all, so the coherent steps helped. Cheers!

this means that either you do not have admin credentials on your PC, as outlined in
here http://www.erightsoft.com/faqt.html#Q022 or on our webpage where you have downloaded SUPER(C)
or, if you have admin credentials, you have absolutely no write access to your
Windows folder and all its subdirs, in other words you cannot copy any file to the Windows folder.
Fix this issue and SUPER(C) will run as a charm like it does on million of PCs..

You have 3 dll files with a wrong SHA-512 HASH.
it means when you installed SUPER(C), the installer couldn't overwrite older versions
of those files to write the new ones.
Although they look the same and have the same size, they are totally different.
SUPER(C) detects this issue and refuses to run.
Try to turn off your PC (completely off)
Start it back.
uninstall SUPER(C)
Turn off PC
Start it back
re-install SUPER(C)

Hello 96crypt_mod, I've followed your advice to uninstall and to reinstall (even in safe mode) but I have always the same result with SD and SUPER doesn't start.
Could I have the name of the 3 dll files which create this problem ? (or a list of the dll used by super ?)
Thanks for your help.

Also been pulling my hair out over this one, Installed using 'run Admin' no joy, even used the 'logon as Administrator' account, to ensure I had full rights. No Joy.
Installed/uninstalled, many times,
done the uninstall reboot/reinstall solution no joy
Even tried the previous two releases of Super, no joy. Even though they used to work.
I have found however if I boot in safe mode, Super will run !
So I can only assume its another service/patch/driver stopping it loading, but killing every non critical windows process still wouldn't allow it to run.
So is it possible this is a Vista patch bug?.

Just to add,
Downloaded the install files again via Explorer rather than firefox, and running the check shows all files now correctly installed,
ALL needed files to run SUPER ©
are correctly installed on this PC
if SUPER © is still not starting,
verify that your Anti-Vir is
not blocking it.

However, it still fails to run with the same warning,

Resolved the problem by the not ideal solution of removing my anti-virus protection (AVG).
It seems the two do not like to co-exist...........

are series of failed tests of random write access to your disk.
you don't seem to have full admin credentials, in fact you have absolutely no write
access to your Windows folder and all its subdirs, in other words you cannot copy any
file to the Windows folder.
you need to fix this issue in order to use SUPER(C)
