Hi I have a new Canon HF 10, and it's m2ts format.
I try to convert this into anything like avi og mpg. It works to decode but the output is always with sound but without video, just a grey blank screen.
I have searched every "m2ts" related topics here without finding anything that can help me.
Can anyone help me with this?

Your PC does not have any installed DirectShow BluRay decoder.
Uncheck DirectShow Decode adn retry..

I get an error message when I untick "DirectShow Decode" ,possible reasons:
-If direct mode is not checked try and check it...
(I have installed ffdshow that I thought was my directshow decoder, and it seams like everything is decoding, but I only get grey screen with correct sound with this.)
-Some formats can't handle height with not devidable by 16..
(I guess zune and such players that this don't apply to me as I just want to decode to mpg or avi)
-Your input file may not be a valid multimedia clip..
(I know it's a valid clip)
- Interupted cus of low disk space..of slow cpu
(I have enough space over 100gb on each drive so this is no problem, and my pc should handle it I, so this should not be any prob.)

I know m2ts is a very new format, but has SUPER installed the proper codecs so it's suppose to decode it?
Or do I need to get an DirectShow codec, but if not ffdshow then witch direct codec should I get?
Very appreachieted for answer

I have the same samera and problem converting the m2ts-files files to other formats. I notice that the height/width are not divisible by 16 (height=1080, divided by 16=67.5).
Are there any plans to remove this constraint?
Are there any other ways to get round this constraint?
Is there any other free software that can reformat the height and width to something divisible by 16?

FFmpeg is imposing this constraint, SUPER(C) is only a GUI..
