AVCHD files (MTS) conversion - slow video, audio OK

I have huge problem. Downloaded newest version of SUPER(C).
I need to convert files from Canon HG10 camera (MTS files with AVCHD video) to FLV.
Set all needed options and always receive very slow video while audio goes at normal speed. No sync.
Any help?

Re: AVCHD files (MTS) conversion - slow video, audio OK

I am having the same problem.  I have a Sony HDR-SR1 camera and am trying to convert the M2TS files to something else.  I have tried AVI/Divx and MP4/H264 and the video is always converted twice the length, so I guess the video is running half normal speed, but the audio is just fine.  I have tried different framerates, such as 60 (double the 29.97 of the original) and the result is the same.

Are we doing something wrong or have missed a setting for these types of files?

Thanks.

I have downloaded new build - still same error.
Unfrotunate guys who made this software are not responding to this problem at all.
But its for free so I cannot complain. Its just useless for me and I had to buy Nero8 smiley-sad

Re: AVCHD files (MTS) conversion - slow video, audio OK

I have the same problem.  Do the developers of SUPER have any answers to why the AVCHD files have video twice as long as the sound?  It seems many people have questions to this, but no answers have been forthcoming.

My solution:  I have saved my videos as MPEG files from Sony's Picture Motion Browser.  These can then easily be converted by SUPER.

Re: AVCHD files (MTS) conversion - slow video, audio OK

Same problems here as described above.  Camera is a Canon HG10.  I've tried multiple variations of Output Containers, Video Codecs, Video Scale Size, Aspect, Frame/Sec, Bitrate...  All result slow/choppy video but audio is okay.  Info req'd by 96crypt_mod is:

I'm having exactly the same problem, audio is fine but video is half speed. Using footage from a Sony HDR-CX6 camera.

AVCHD files are commonly encoded with a very high VideoScaleSize (i.e 1440:1080)
this requires an extremely fast CPU, at least 2 GB RAM, a very fast read/write access
disk drive and definitely with High-end Graphics Card.
otherwise the playback on a PC is almost impossible.
when encoding, reduce your VideoScaleSize settings to lower than 640:480

besides, AVCHD files encoded with H.264/AVC video codec require 45% more PC
resources than those encoded with the MPEG-II video codec .

It is NOT an encoding issue, it is a playback issue on Slow PCs.

Thanks, but I have a Quadro FX 1500 gfx card (not exactly cheap) and have no problems encoding / viewing 1440x1080 video using other apps (e.g. Sony Vegas Pro).

I really think there is an encoding issue here. I also just happened to read http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2008/05/0 … ree-tools/ which says: -

The current situation is far from ideal regarding free tools and AVCHD .mts/.m2ts files. FFmpeg has bugs with these files (it creates files that have double the frame rate)

Which sounds familiar....maybe related?
