Soooo...I've had this problem for a long time now and I thought I'd check back after a couple months to see if there was an update to the program fixing compatability issues with Vista, but I guess not...
Basically Super will install and give me the message window saying that all files have installed correctly, but when I go to open up the program, it'll try to open for about 5 or more seconds, then nothing. It doesn't load. Looking in the program task window it'll show Super.exe opening up for a second, then disappearing right away. It looks like it wants to load, but it just doesn't.
Has anybody figured out a way to get around this, short of installing Windows XP? Is this such a small problem that there hasn't been any official fixes for this yet? I remember a few people posting about this same exact problem with no workaround in sight a few months back when I last tried this program.

your anti-vir has deleted or denied access to (at least) one file --> SUPER(C) won't start

That can't be the case because it works on XP on my laptop with the exact same antivirus software, everything set on default. Plus, I just uninstalled my antivirus software on Vista (couldn't find the option to turn off antivirus lol) and it still wouldn't open. Oh my windows firewall is off too.

Same with me brother sp00gie, same with me.
I have a machine with Windows Vista Business SP1 and my SUPER's behavior is the same as yours.

Same problem for me, launching SUPER is definitely not working on my VISTA SP1 box. Disabling AV, running it as admin and all other solutions described in this forum do not help. I wrote to eRightsoft, but got no reply. Nobody will buy the non-free version if the free one does not work on VISTA machines.

Hey all. I had the same problem with Super disappearing into the background of the desktop picture. I followed the recommendation to find the exe file then properties and in my case had to run it in compability mode for Windows NT service pac 4. Hope this is some help to someone as I really enjoy using this software....Nimrod.

I used this tool on Windows 2000 before. I think its a really great tool so now I'm trying to run it on Vista.
... and I'm pissed that it doesn't start up. My problem seems to be the same like everyone elses here. Running as admin or running with any of the compability modes (I tried them all) just doesn't help.
I guess there is nothing I can do but wait for the next update when these problems get finally fixed. Since this is a freeware tool I won't complain. But it's very annoying anyway.

Same problem here. It simply does not run on Vista, and it's a real shame.
I've used Super for a long time and love the software, but now it seems there's no other option than to look for an alternative that actually runs on my OS.

At least with Windows versions just before Vista, Windows sometimes terminates a program and won't give you an error message.
--> Windows sometimes terminates a program without an error report. <--
(Windows bug, at least with 2000 and XP *maybe* Vista)
Thus, it's more difficult to find out what the cause is.
I suggest that you unload your security software. Especially if you have Kerio.
