I updated to v.2008 build .30 last Tuesday and all the files I converted since then have been loud & distorted.
I think automatically punching up the volume like that probably works great for converting full length DVD movies is great, but if you're converting something like a music video, which is already very loud, that extra volume just distorts the sound of the output file.
Is there anyway manually to turn this feature off or adjust it ( to say: Volume +0 DB or 2 DB or -6 DB )?
If not, maybe an new feature idea for the next go around? Manually adjustable output volume control.

encoding volume adjustment is not a new option, it has been implemented on all
our versions since v2006.build.19 (April 26, 2006) http://www.erightsoft.com/^P/supdropdt.html
click on the tiny Other Opts switch
disable/enable it
or set it to any value of your choice..

Yap, that was it. Thank you.
I was using Super ( Version 23 ) on my other computer and now that I look at it, that version has this feature, but it didn't seem to turn it on automatically, so all the file I did on that version sounded right.
The newer version ( 30s ) seem to select the +5/6 volume bump automatically upon installation, which is why all my newer encodes were so loud & distorted.
Thanks a million. Problem solved.
