PCI based UDMA/ATA100 controller

I am building a new desktop with an Intel Core2 Duo processor and a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R LGA 775 MB. The "C" drive is a 160 GB Seagate SATA2. The dual layer DVD-RW is an IDE unit. I would like to reuse the two 250 GB ATA100 (IDE) hard drives from my existing P4E desktop. Problem: There is only one IDE slot left. Since there are 3 PCI slots on the MB and only 2 are expected to be used, I'm considering purchasing a PCI based UDMA/ATA100 controller which would provide an additional 2 slots. Does anyone have experience with this type of device, and if yes, would you recommend this solution to my available UDMA slots problem? The OS will be WinXP Pro SP2.

Thanks for your advice.

Re: PCI based UDMA/ATA100 controller

promise technology makes the best ones. You'll need one of the newer ones to support drives over 120mb.
I'd   the two drives and get a sata drive, you'll be ahead in the long run.
