multi thread \ core question

Is there anyway to increase the amount of core \ thread usage?

So would running two or more instances, depending on amount of cpu cores, effect performance (like audio \ video not aligning)?

What do you mean by not implemented?

afaik for example x264 supports parallel threads for encoding.
Wouldn't you just have to use the command line switch?

Why is this really super freeware tool updated, but not up to date?

I bet at least every third pc used for encoding has a multicore processor, so isn't multi-threading an important performance impacting feature?
