This one is pretty weird. If I select a few files to encode and start the encoding process the first one will work OK but the second one will fail with an error. If I then try starting the encoding on that second file again it immediatiely fails with the message "not able to save the rendered file". However, if I select a different output folder the encoding on that second file works. But then it will fail on the 3rd file untill I change the output folder again. But then the 4th file fails etc etc. All the files have different names so it's not like it is trying to write over any existing files. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? One thing I have noticed is that it asks me where to save each file after encoding each file even though I have set the output folder. Shouldn't it be putting every encoded file into the same output folder automatically without asking me? Otherwise it's no good for running batch jobs.
A suggestion: Change the progress bar thingy to something that doesn't look like a progress bar. It's just confusing to see it slowly ramping up then resetting. I suggest have it just flash or have a small bar slide from one end to the other and back. Is it possible to include a proper progress bar or is it not possible to estimate how long a job will take? Other programs seem to manage it.
Encoding details from top left to bottom right:
WINXP, AVI, H264/AVC, mp3, ffmpeg, directshow enabled or disabled, 320 x 240, 4:3, 25fps, 768kbps, high quality, h264 profile Baseline 1.3, 44100, 2 channels, 160kbps, default player options.

Your input source file is either located:
1.on a network link within a LAN
2.a locked drive (write mode not permitted)
3.a CDROM/DVD (write mode not permitted)
4.You do not have enough space on the drive where SUPER(C) is installed (20 GB read the FAQ)
5.or you are not logged as administrator which is a must (read the FAQ)
If all the above does not correspond to your case then SUPER(C) is not compatible
with your PC.

Thanks. My problem was that I had ripped a DVD to an ISO then mounted that ISO as a virtual DVD drive and was then trying to read the vob files from that drive so, sure enough, the virtual DVD drive is read-only. When I copied the vob files to my hard disk it worked perfectly. I like to keep my DVDs on my hard disk as ISOs rather than vobs etc because then I can easily reburn the DVD if required or view it on my computer with all the menus included just like it would behave on a TV.
I suspect this might affect quite a few users so would suggest the program try to detect a read only source drive and warn the user that it must be writeable. It isn't obvious to me that an encoding program should need to write to drive that the source files are located on.

Of course, you just found yourself the answer to this question in your first post: (read it below)
that's ONLY happening because your disk has no write access

this prompt wouldn't appear in normal cases, it only appears when SUPER(C)
can't write to the selected destination folder.
