W3Exchange / Error encoding from VOB to mp4 divx at 250 MB

I try to convert VOB files ripped with DVDshrink to mpeg4 Divx in order to read them on a Jobo Giga Vu Pro Evolution player.
On little files it works fine, but on 1 GB VOB files the process stops near the end when the output file reaches near 250 MB.

how to avoid this ?

Rip again the VOB from the DVD, try also DVD Decrypt
