heya, i love SUPER (for the most part) and recomend to anyone who needs it. Could i humbly submit some ideas for the next update,...
SOME OLD SUGGESTIONS,...
I wrote here over 3 years ago with the following suggestions and humbly re-submit these for your consideration,...
add a 'No Change' option to the 'Aspect Ratio', 'Frame Rate', 'Sampling Freq', and 'Channels' as these are seldom likely to change from the orig file.
add a 'add to batch file' feature so users can configure a number of different encodes (different res's, fr's, ar's, audio, etc), add them to a list, then when the list is finished hit render, and go out for the day,
add the ability to do 'multi-pass' encodes.
AND SOME NEW ONES,..
Being able to set the 'CPU Priority' would be a really useful and welcome feature, as would being able to set the 'temp directory path' (SUPER currently come up with a warning if you have less than 20Gb free on 'C', which is irritating, especially if you have 100Gb free on 'D' and on 'E').
There is a bug which many people have complained about where on starting SUPER it warns that it NEEDS 'Windows R' and can only find 'XP' - this appeared with the Mar.22,2008 version (the previous version was ok).
Another problem is that people can't find the download, the site is as clear as mud. Couldn't you re-write the site so that the download is clear.

I still use VirtualDub for recoding AVI's and MPG's, it's quicker, has more options, does multi-pass, and batch-files - for everything else i use SUPER
:-)
thank you for continuing to make and update SUPER as a FREE tool - with the suggestion i've submitted here it would definately be the ultimate video tool.
xx sarah
PS - was going to suggest a button for enigma decryption, but think i'll leave that for a year or 2 :-)

I definately agree with Sarah. SUPER is a great tool!
For professionnal use, I need two pass encoding... so I use Avidemux.
But I wish I could use SUPER instead with this feature. The batch options (which could be improved the way Sarah suggests) are yet another advantage of SUPER!
Best regards,
