Hi,
I have successfully installed super, and when it starts, it informs me that it needs Windows(R) to run, but that I am running Win XP. Therefore it may encounter problems. If I say ok to that message, and try to use the program, I can load videos, but on hitting the encode button, it brings up a message saying "SUPER has detected some abnormal error that could be due to a slow pc, very low available ram, or requite rebooting). I am sure that a 2.2ghz quadcore AMD phenom is not a slow processor, and 4bd of ram is certainly not low, and especially with 1gb (approx) free. I have tried rebooting several times too.
Hopefully someone can help,
if you need more info please ask,
Thanks,
Jacob

I have the same problem. Using Win XP SP3, but the newest version of SuperC reports problems with OS: required: Windows, detected: Win XP. No conversions possible, program aborts after conversion start. Older version was OK. Is an older version available ??

Well, I found some old versions at http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER?ol … #download. The only problem is that any version old enough to not have the WinXP error won't start, and any version new enough to start has the WinXP error. This is very annoying!!
Edit: I have just tried reverting to windows XP SP2 (from SP3), and guess what!!?? SAME ISSUE!!!!!!!! THIS IS VERY ANNOYING!! IS EVERYONE HAVING THIS ISSUE, OR ONLY SOME PEOPLE?

Hi!
I have the same problem... When I got the error message about the wrong OS I just thought it was a little programming error or something, but I also have the encoding problems described above...

I'm my test case I was trying to encode into an Apple iPod MPEG-4/AAC LC...
Okay, after a bit of testing it seems that mpeg works and avi/wmv does not... i tried quite a few videos and the result was always the same... mpeg went through, others created the weird "Warning-Win XP Incompatibility - SUPER has detected some abnormal error that could be due to a slow pc, very low available ram rebooting is required"... Please, could someone offer some help?

Download and run DECCHECK. This is Microsoft's Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility.
It will be under Start>>All Programs>>Windows Media>>Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility
Select ffdshow Video Decoder and click "Set as Preferred" button. (Ignore all the scary red X indicators and warnings.)
Close Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility.
Restart SUPER, if it was already open. Try encoding.
Return to this post and leave message telling me how much great I am.
