DiracSplitter.ax

Hi,
I'm new to SUPER and really want to see it running.
During the installation
I got a warning window saying

C:\Windwos\System32\DiracSplitter.ax

This file cannot be installed; it may be in use.

Please close all other applications, then click Retry.

Alternatively, click Cancel to skip this file and install it later. This will require a system restart.

I closed all other applications and made fresh boot but it didn't help.  I just clicked on Cancel but couldn't find DiracSplitter.ax anywhere after.  The program did run and work on some files but not on .m2ts files which is the main reason I'd like to use the program for.  So just wondering if it's because of the missing file.

I'm using Vista and it's SUPER Version 2008.bld.25.  Followed all vista installation instructions such as turning off UAC and make some file Windows XP compatible.

Please help, I keep installing and uninstalling the program.

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

Sorry to bother you with such a basic question.  Is .m2ts same as .m2t? (Aren't they same as H.264 format?) My Panasonic camcorder records in .m2ts file (not .m2t). When I Play (Active Files | Streams) my .m2ts file using SUPER, I only hear sound but no video.

I'll post details on settings and file according to the instruction when I get back home.  Thank you.

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

.m2t
.m2ts
.ts
are all file extension of HDTV transport stream file.

usually m2 means [MPG2.AC3]
ts means transport stream and are usually [H264.AC3] or [H264.MP2]

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

use ONLY this Output Container vob  (.TS / .M2T to .VOB)
select option 4 or 5 depending whether you need 25 or 29.97 fps
when encoding is done, you may if you want change the rendered file extension from VOB to MPG

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

I tried with vob Output Container with VOB DVD Compliant NTSC (25 fps and 29.97 fps) but it didn't work.  The Output Status filed reads
"Not a TranspStr..."
But this time "An ERROR has occurred.  Click to read more.." dimmed out.

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

Hi;
I'm also getting the same result "Not a transport stream" when following the advice given; "use ONLY this Output Container vob  (.TS / .M2T to .VOB)".  I tried renaming the file from *.MTS to *.TS and *.M2T but to no avail.  I've tried for a couple hours a number of other formats but again no joy.

Camera is the Sony HDR-SR5

Super is a great program and I've recommended to many others, but it would seem that AVCHD is not yet supported by Super.v2008.build.25, Feb 5, 2008

I'll post the program settings and details about my PC in next post.

This is one of the program settings that I tried.  I will post other program setting and the resulting error message or problem in other posts.

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

As per instructions on getting help:

3. Details about your PC:
We need to know: CPU speed, RAM size, HD free space (on the OS Drive), OperatingSystem.

Code::

Acer laptop 1710, 3.4Ghz Intel P4, (It says 2 CPUs but that's just hyperthreading)
 2GB RAM,
 400GB IDE 7200 rpm HD,
Divided into 4 partitions with the video partition still having 22.2 GB free,
(just trying to convert a 100 MB file that is just over 1 minute long),
 OS is WinXP SP2, (5.1, build 2600),
 DirectX Version: 9.0c,
graphics card NVidia GeForce FX Go5700 with 128 MB ram,
 current display 1280x1024,
 driver nv4_disp.dll, (version 6.14.0010.5351).

Thanks for looking at my challenge.  Wow, I'm impressed - thanks.

Yes the first letter, (non null), is a "G" (47h).  In fact here are the first few lines of the file in hex:

Code::

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

I didn't expect you use an HEX editor so I suggested NotePAd, but as the file is very
long and despite your 2GB RAM, I was affraid to cause your PC to hang up so I deleted the post!

anyways, it seems you cannot use the vob  (.TS / .M2T to .VOB) Container
but what about trying other containers..

This is the BluRay Video that we do really want to test, can you host/provide a 10 sec sample (expected 10 MB file)

Re: DiracSplitter.ax

Sure, I'll get back to you soon with a place to download a 10 sec file.  Actually, I'll PM you with a link as all my existing files are long so I'll have to capture a new 10 sec video clip.

Thanks a bunch for your time.

UPDATE:
Upon a second examination, no, Super doesn't play the AVCHD BluRay files just fine.  The clip I was watching when I made this statement was of the solar eclipse on Wednesday.  It was impossible to tell that Super was playing it at a much slower speed.
I made a couple short 10 second clips for 96crypt_mod and they included some walking motion, (of a couple white quadrupeds I have) smiley-smile  It was watching these clips in Super that I realized that Super was playing them at 25% speed with or without the "Faster Play" checked and with or without going to full screen.  (CPU was at 25% - 30% so it wasn't a CPU issue).
