Error in trying to convert avi to zune

I am a complete beginner and was hoping for a video converting program that didn't require a PhD in "bitrates" and "codecs",  because I am completely clueless in those departments. I am trying to convert home movie avi's to zune. I simply picked "zune" and went with all the defaults. Each time I attempt conversion, I get this error message:  An error has occurred while encoding. The most possible reasons causing error: If you have checked "Directsho decode, etc, etc, etc, etc ..............Your input source file may not be a valid multimedia clip due to damaged header, corrupted, truncated etc. etc. etc..............There was an interruption of the encoding process due to disc space, slow PC, ram drainage etc. etc. etc. Please discuss your encoding errors at etc etc etc.

Have tried it with and without directshow decode.

Here is my file analysis page.

As far as attaching the spf of the settings to this message, I don't know how to do this. I did create such a file but the mechanics involved in either attaching it to this message or somehow cutting and pasting the entire graphical page escapes me.

The settings are exactly what shows up when you click in ZUNE for your output.

My computer is a Dell Dimension Core2 6300@1.86 GHz with 2G Ram and 409G of available memory.

The version of your software is whatever version would have been downloaded from your site today.

Please tell me what I need to change in your program to simply change a file from avi to zune.

Thanks.

Whoops, I almost forgot. I'm using Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 2.

try to select 11KHz sampling freq and mono for the output.
